Kettle Moraine State Forest offers a large array of outdoor activities on its impressive expanse of glacial hills, pine and hardwood forests, glacial kettle formations, lakes, and prairie restoration sites. Featuring camping, hunting, fishing, hiking and picnicking, along with historic sites, such as Old World Wisconsin, the "America's largest outdoor museum of rural life," this terrific state forest also offers a fascinating natural history museum at the forest headquarters, offering exhibits and video presentations about the Ice Age and the glacial formation of the area's diverse terrain. The forest is located approximately 30 miles southwest of Milwaukee, between the village of Dousman and the city of Whitewater.
